Fire damage and selling for cash

Fire damage and selling for cash

My partner and I obtained an older home in Jacksonville, FL.

  • The house was affordable because it needed quite a bit of work, and everything was outdated and rundown.

The house had stood empty for multiple years. There were problems with the roof, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems. My buddy and I needed to toil on everything from the landscaping to the actual structure. There was no way my pal and I could afford to hire a licensed business to complete the renovations and repairs. Instead, my pal and I handled the toil ourselves. My partner and I are quite handy, and my pal and I took advantage of information and videos readily available on YouTube. My buddy and I were quite cheerful with our results. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the electrical panel and wiring. Our lack of knowledge resulted in overloaded circuits and a fire. My buddy and I are particularly lucky that no one was harmed. However, the fire caused expansive disfigurement. Because my pal and I had failed to get the correct permits for our replaces, the insurance wouldn’t cover the rebuild. My buddy and I couldn’t live in the house following the fire. The roof and entire structure was compromised. The smell was horrible. My buddy and I got estimates for repairs, however couldn’t cover the cost… Selling the house by way of conventional methods wasn’t feasible. A client would never qualify for a mortgage. The house wouldn’t pass inspection or no one would insure it. Our best option was to find a currency home buyer. A bit of research via Google led us to a local, family-owned Jacksonville supplier that has been around for quite a few years. My buddy and I were able to secure an offer without any obligation. Had my pal and I decided not to accept it, there would have been no fees.
