No longer want to be a homeowner

I’ve realized that I am not meant to be a homeowner. It is much better for me to rent and leave upkeep to a landlord. Right after I graduated from college, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona. I absolutely love the area. The stunning landscape, blue skies and gorgeous weather are ideal for outdoor activities. I spend the majority of my free time hiking, cycling, jogging and swimming. I don’t want to devote effort to cleaning gutters, draining a hot water tank, mowing the lawn, cleaning the dryer vent or replacing filters. For a few years, I rented an apartment. I was perfectly happy. My parents urged me to buy a home. They told me I needed to build equity. They cautioned me about throwing away money on rent. Shortly after I bought my house, I realized my mistake. I was very unhappy. The house deteriorated due to lack of maintenance. By the time I was ready to sell, it would no longer pass a home inspection. I was so eager to get out from under the responsibility of the property that I decided to sell to a cash home buyer. The cash home buyer provided an offer the same day that I submitted the contact form. They handled all of the demands of the closing, as well as the fees. I closed on the house in under ten days. There were no requirements before moving out. I didn’t need to schedule repairs, clean or spruce up the landscaping. I also received the full amount of the sale deposited into my account with no delays.
